Oggetto: Beta rr 50 racing per corsa enduro

Hi, I am new at the your very interesting forum but I quite sure someone could help me.
I have a Beta rr 50 racing 2015 to race in enduro 50cc. Can someone tell me which parts should I use. It has to stay 50cc. Free budget (for the time being...)! Since it is to race I want the best regarding low, mid and hi end power but reliable.
You can answer in italian. Many thanks.

If you have unlimited budget you can think to buy a Athena 50cc with exhaust valve eusa_think.gif I think in enduro is a good idea, but i didn't tested it

a friend of mine's raced with a beta 50cc two or three years ago, he had an aftermarket cilynder and a customized exhaust system made for his motorbike (DRP-DAPP) and a lot of other modifications 0509_up.gif

Hi! I think that Athena 50 with powervalve is THE choice for 50cc competition. We are using it and we ported it to 198* and still is a gorgeus engine.
However if you go that choice it will need some work to make it per forming as expected.
A 28 KEIHIN isvthe choice (JJH needle and jetted with a 122 to 128 depending outside temperature)
Reed system I would go for VFORCE for Honda cr85. It will require some work for housing it but it is worth the price. Alternatively I would think about DRP reed system, basically an ITALKIT system but with better choice of reed thicknesses. I still have to try it but my guess once in my hand would be 0,32mm thick in upper case and 0,30mm on lower case.
Always from DRP the "Extreme" muffler is the best for the athena....but you will need to tune it as the first part of exaust is delivered very long so that you can shorten it to your best choice of torque/highs preferences.
Crankshaft you can stay in Athena but the C4 version with 20mm shoulders..
Last but not least second radiator, straight teeth primary tranission, the light alloy gear selector and the Athena clutch carter cover.
Once you have it, then you can start the carter mods, including the beefing up of LH carter to allow then the portings base reshaping...
Ops ,, I forgot ignition system...for enduro you need also services lights, for this Polini frontal rotor is the best choice...but a real dog to tune...

You may listen here how it works...

Hope this helps!!
Ciao
Fabio

Thank you for all your answers.
I have to use the Beta since we are sponsored by the local dealer. I also have a great guy to work on the housing but what I was looking for was if you could help me on the parts to buy. There are so many performance kits that makes it difficult to choose.
Since there are a lot of expertise on this issue here in the forum I wondered if you could suggest what to buy.

My pleasure!

No Crankshaft has to be changed, Athena engine if well tuned can reach 16000rpm, way too much for the original one. In addition C4 Bearings are great for this as they will take much better the pun of higher temperatures.

I normally buy engine parts from Biollamotors which have quite nice pricing Biollamotors.it
for Athena spares and disposables I buy it directly from Athena (www.athenaparts.com).
Muffler you can buy directly from DAPP (www.dappmotor.it) as they make it on order only..
For DRP (DAPP) EXTREME muffler. I cannot say enough good words about how great it is...
We were using before a Polini/Scalvini exaust and then we moved to DRP... a completely different world..not that much power more (1cv) but a way better engine behaviour from 6000rpm...
pls let me know if I can help further
ciao!

Hi Fabio,

I am having some trouble looking for same parts. Maybe you can help.

-Cilinder from Athena w/powervalve- in the site from athena is hard to find. I found it but in different sits
-Crankshaft from Athena - is it the special crankshaft std with 12mm piston pin for HM?
-Athena clutch carter cover - easyer to find in other sites. Is it really necessary?
-Carburator (same as in the Ktm 85) easy to find
-Reed valves V Force (If they are the same as the Vforce in the Ktm 85) easy to find
-Radiator - Where can i find it, which model
-Straight teeth primary transmission- Hard to choose. There are so many in Biolla...
-Polini front rotor - is it the Ignition Digital POLINI with Inner Rotor Minarelli AM6 or just the rotor?
-Drp (dapp) extreme muffler- Couldn't find it. There are a few in the website but the extreme...

Is it just the muffler? Don't i have to use also an exhaust different from the original?
Am I missing something?

Once again thank you very much for your help.

HI !

ok lets start:

Athena with Powervalve : Biolla Motors
Link a pagina di Shop.biollamotors.it
NIce price too : 268 euros

Athena Clutch cover:http://www.dam-sport.net/carter-d-embrayage-athena-competition-demontable-am6.html
.. I had same doubt before using it. I would say that the fact that you can change Clutch discs WITHOUT removing Oil and Cooling liquid, is a great plus, especially in competition. In additon it is redesigned and it takes 300gr less oil than original which means less heat forming, no automix place anymore...in total 1round Kilo less than original...

Athena Crankshaft :
Link a pagina di Dam-sport.net
in case also this one is really good (we are using this actually)
Link a pagina di Dam-sport.net
but for this you need to by the two C4 20mm bearings
Link a pagina di Dam-sport.net

Carburettor : nope best choice is Keihin PWK28
Link a pagina di Sip-scootershop.com
Needle need to be a JJH

Reed valve : Link a pagina di Scootfast.net This is the type 0509_up.gif Normally on AM6 the version for KTM 65 is used, BUT this will not work with a 28mm Carburettor... Honda 85 pack, even if requires some tweaks, is much much better and let you gain about 1500rpm

Radiator: BETA will provide you the left radiator as spareparts plus the extra piping. When we tuned ours (an HM) we bought it from an HM Dealer...

Straight teeth : this is the one
Link a pagina di Dam-sport.net
As you are opening carters anyway you may want to change also gear selector
Link a pagina di Dam-sport.net this one is 600grams lighter and should assure a quicker gear shift (actually we did not find it..but it is much lighter!)

Polini ignition: I meant the complete kit not only the rotor 0509_up.gif

For DAPP (DRP) you need to call them or write them via email to order the Extreme Exaust (yes I menat exaust, sorry icon_redface.gif ) you may want to contact them also via Facebook Messenger (search for DRP in FB). These exaust are done in short run only for competition.... it will cost approx 350 euros..

Hope this Helps!

ciao

Fabio, great work and great help icon_smile.gif

We are also sponsored by KTM on MX. We have excellent prices on all Ktm parts. The Ktm 85 actually use a Keihin PWK 28. The reed valve case (Vforce) looks similar to the one used for the CR 85. If I can buy this with Ktm i will spare some money... I can always try before buying since we have 2 Ktm 85.

I have already sent an email to DAPP. I am also going to contact them throw Facebook.

About the Polini, is this the one that you recommend: Link a pagina di En.easyparts.nl

Gracie 1000!
